THE STARS seems very simplistic, and it's written by the author of the "Curious George" series, but it is definitely not a kids' book.

It never gets too technical, but Rey does go into a bit of depth in the later chapters. To start out with, though, he sketches out the major constellations and gives the observer some great by: 5. Based on a true story rooted in America’s past, The Giver of Stars is unparalleled in its scope and epic in its storytelling.

Funny, heartbreaking, enthralling, it is destined to become a modern classic--a richly rewarding novel of women’s friendship, of true love, and of what happens when we reach beyond our grasp for the great beyond/5(K).

"Children of the Stars" is a powerful story of faith, hope, and the kindness of strangers prevailing over evil. The book focuses on Jacob and Moses Stein, Jewish brothers living in Nazi-occupied Paris during WWII; having already fled to France from Germany as a family/5(43).

The only thing against this book is that it is book 12 of the series. I still gave the book 5 stars but it is time to move onto a new generation of characters and a new plot line. To much of the book is a set of rehashed pages from earlier books/5().

It is the first book in the Falling Stars series, the spinoff from The Bleeding Stars series. This series centers around Carolina George, a country band. They were seen often playing at Charlie's, in the Bleeding Stars books/5(). Packed with high-stakes adventure, romance, and dueling identities, this gender-swapped retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo is the first novel in an epic YA fantasy duology, perfect for fans of Sarah J.

1st, 16 BEST BOOKS TO READ THIS OCTOBER: THE GIVER OF STARS. by Elizabeth Strout. THE TOPEKA SCHOOL. by Leigh Bardugo. CRISIS OF CONSCIENCE. by Adrienne Brodeur. by Edmund. Moyes' latest, The Giver of Stars, is set to receive the same treatment almost a decade later (exact release date TBD).

Set in small-town s Kentucky, the novel centers on a group of women. Will build vocabulary and awareness of literature, as the book makes references to Shakespeare, etc.

(including the title, which comes from his Julius Caesar ("The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,/ But in ourselves, that we are underlings."). Can inspire discussions about fate, the meaning of life, thoughts about dying.

And ten—the age of Annemarie in Number the Stars, and the approximate age of most of the book's readers—is an age when young people are beginning to develop a strong set of personal ethics.

They want to be honorable people. They want to do the right thing. And they are beginning to realize that the world they live in is.

“The Fault in Our Stars feels like the stakes have been raised, a swing for the fences that tackles big themes (life, love, and death) and succeeds. Green takes a potentially mawkish premise and delivers an honest, immediate, and deeply resonant story, one deserving of its status as a future classic.”.

Under the Stars. by Carolyn Twede Frank. Product Rating. 1 stars. 2 stars. 3 stars. 4 stars. 5 stars. This was my first book by this author & apparently the 3rd in a series, so I can vouch that the book works just fine as a standalone. I'm not sure it was the most believable story, but it was pretty fun.

Stars. K likes. New album 'There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light' out now. The Fault in Our Stars is a novel by young adult author John Green. The book follows the story of sixteen year old Hazel Grace Lancaster, who has parents make her go to a support group, where she meets a boy named Augustus Waters, who she falls in love with.

It has been made into a movie of the same name, which was released on June 6.
